Well, here we are.  The day after Trump's inauguration, huge, mass demonstrations, the day after he orders a make-shift ban on immigration from the tiredest, poorest, huddledest, wretchedest places on the planet, more huge, mass demonstrations.  Again, I can not thank our new President enough for what he has done for liberalism in just his first nine days.

A Brooklyn federal judge blocked part of the orderGOP leaders are squirming.  The order does little to address it's ostensible aim, and seems to be nothing but a political distraction, and a very poorly planned one at that.  But while this goes on, along with the ongoing silly drama of The Wall, Net Neutrality is doomed, and we can expect rightwing assaults on our healthcare, education, pollution, and consumer protections with the aid of his cadre in the cabinet, and a drooling GOP Hill.

Though he may mobilize the Left for the future, the damage that's being done now will take a loooooong time to undo.  Let's hope his distractions are the GOP's undoing come the next couple of election cycles.  The good things Trump says he wants to do would only be doable then anyway.

  1. trump is the loose howitzer. The wrecking ball. The ticking time bomb. The idiot without thought. The wheel without spokes. The ship without a rudder.

You name it. It ain't good.

  2. He could also be the undoing of the GOP. All those things you say of Trump are true, but if Trump is the Howitzer, the GOP is the guy charging 2 millions dollars a shot, if Trump is the wrecking ball, the GOP is the foreman pointing at the schools and hospitals to be demolished, if he's the idiots, they're the thoughts, etc... He can make them look very bad, or he can hide them from their liability. I'm hoping for the former.

  3. I love how Trump has completely distracted the Left with Obama's own policies. Life is good...

  4. What a GREAT opportunity for the Left to demonstrate their "better angels"... for ALL the world to see. :)

  5. He certainly has distracted. The question is - when will the distractions themselves become the undoing?

As for "better angels," the Left has no monopoly on that sort of nonsense. I'm not equivocating. Many years ago, I knocked a guy out at a demonstration. He had it coming, though, sticking that sign in that girl's face. But that's another story. I do not hold ill will toward Trump's everyday-work-a-day supporters. It's the rightwingers in power I'd like to punch in the face. They are going to seriously damage this country if we don't watch out. They know the times are changing. They are clinging to power as it is. The GOP has been over-represented on the Hill for years. It's only for the nature of the Senate and the GOP's use of gerrymandering after recent censuses, that they are the federal majority party. Even at the state and local levels, the GOP maintains it's power by dividing districts between where people work and live and shop, separating the working class from the middle and upper. But that can't go on forever. They will now try to make long-term policy and law, appointments and regulations, that will hamper and take advantage of the working class for years and years to come. It's up to Trump to make them look so bad, they can't get away with it - or - he realizes their ideas will make him a terrible President and he will turn on them. That's the best we can hope for.

    1. I will disagree that the Right wing will destroy the country. The undoing is the result of the far left, and make note that I'm saying THE FAR LEFT. Trump has gone after the Far Right as well as the Far Left. The best thing we can do as a nation is to make sure that the crooked politicians on all sides get caught and punished.

By the way, mystere told me about this site. Keep having fun, Jersey Mac!

  6. We need a strong and principled conservative party and a strong and principled liberal party in the USA. To keep each other honest.

Unfortunately the now republican party has proven itself to be very unprincipled and the democratic party has its wrinkles as well.

trump and his minions are steering their party in the wrong direction and IMHO will be its eventual undoing.

I just hope they don't destroy the country first.

  7. The distractions keep the Left splintered. They can't "focus". They can't coalesce and oppose. They're reacting to every Tweet, and so they're "all over the place".

Meanwhile, cabinet nominees get confirmed. SCOTUS picks work their way through committees. ANnd Democrat's show up at airports to protest old Obama policies...

    lol!

    1. I like Twitter! Mystere keeps showing me Donald Trump's Tweets and how the left are freaking out over what President Donald Trump is saying. We laugh at the spineless little twerps crying like babies when President Trump cracks the whip and turns the tables on them. The den of thieves has been raided!

    2. We sure do have some good times reading what's on President Trump's mind! You gave me some great ideas on how to reply to President Trump recently.

  8. Yup. I agree. That's precisely the conservative narrative.

Meanwhile trump does his work. We'll see how it all works out for him in 2018 and 2012.

Meanwhile trump has hit the 50% disapproval mark and no doubt heading further south.

We live in interesting and dangerous
    domestic times.

  9. All true. The Dems are all up in arms over this immigration thing, the acting-AG was just fired, it's all over all the news, meanwhile Trump has a cabinet made up of people who are vociferously against the very existence of the offices they will be holding, and the GOP is licking it's chops imagining SS money flowing unto Wall Street, Medicare utterly unnecessarily looted by private insurance companies, and a new endless war with Islam to make them feel like men.

  11. Jersey, I've worked for about 2 decades in the radio and television industry, so I've seen what government agencies can do to free speech. You're probably not aware of Canadian laws that make it illegal for preachers to bring up certain Biblical topics on air in Canada, and how it affects broadcasters in the USA airing religious programs in border states that have the potential of being heard across the border in Canada. Canada prohibits certain topics such as what's written in the 10 commandments about homosexuality, and if a preacher speaks about it on air in any form such as a prerecorded sermon, the Canadian authorities can arrest the preacher and the operators of the broadcast facility even when it originates in the USA border states. I'm very well aware of this, even as a broadcast worker in California, as the FCC keeps tabs on what other countries allow over the air. I oppose Net Neutrality as well, because of the political Pandora's box that it can open in the future. If President Trump sees it as a bad deal, you can bet he'll call it out. 0bama loved it, but that's 0bama for you.

  12. Mystere... unless I'm mistaken, there is no mention of homosexuality in the 10 Commandments...

Maybe the reason why it can't be brought up is because it doesn't exist...

    1. I don!t believe mystere is overly concerned with truth Dave. Besides, alternative facts and have become the currency of the right wing. Folks like bannon and alex jones along with news media like brietbart and infowars are becoming the truth tellers in trump's alternative reality.

    3. RN, Do not try to start a verbal war with me on Jersey's blog. I'm trying to be nice to Jersey. Unless you want to become the butt of jokes alongside Lester Liberalmann on some of my blogs, do not start a war with me here.

Dave, you're missing some information about the Bible. There are commands that a man shall not lie with another man as he does with a woman, nor shall a woman lie with another woman as she does with a man. Do the research, and do it for your own good. You'd be surprised to find out what's covered. Enrich your life, Dave. Someday, you'll be glad you did.

RN, this is the only warning you'll get from me. If you try to incite trouble with me, you'll find "Blog Rikishi" giving you a blog stinkface as bad as the ones Pookie Toot receives from the team, and it will be on MY BLOGSITES, not Jersey's.
